BOOKas Palad Foundation thanksgiving party!!

Yesterday, February 6, 2011 our group had the implementation of our Project development deliverable which is, renovating a public school library somewhere in Cavite. It was very much tiring and stressful but when we saw the finished output, everything paid off!!

*The pictures in the said activity will be posted SOON! For now, I’ll focus on the scrumptious dinner that we had last night*

We arrived there at around 11am (we were 2 hours late on our schedule due to “Filipino time” and lots of pit stops) and the teachers of the school welcomed us and we dint know that. After few chit chats with them and giving of certificates, we immediately started renovating their library (from 11:30am-6pm). We are 11 in the group so everything has a task to do and no time to slack. Painting the walls, the cabinet, cleaning the books were not that easy to do and we really felt how is it to be a construction worker/maintenance for a mean time. But all our hard work paid off when we saw the outcome of what we did so to celebrate a good job done, we had our scrumptious dinner at Shakeys!!

First dish, Pasta (Spaghetti and Carbonara)!!!

The spaghetti dint reach us, so we had Carbonara instead (No hard feelings!!!).

Second dish, Pizza (Veggies and Pepperoni)!!!

Last but not the least, Chick n’ chips (Fried chicken and Mojos)!!!

I really had a BLAST yesterday!!! STRESS+GOOD JOB DONE+DELICIOUS MEAL=VERY MUCH WORTH IT!!!

After 2 freaking, itchy months!!

Finally, had my haircut after so many months!! This is the longest period ever I haven’t been on a salon or a barber shop to have my haircut. I don’t know what caused the delay but good thing, I had my haircut before it reached its third month ‘cuz for sure I’ll look like an “ermintanyo” and the like!! LOL! 😀

I went to Ystilo Salon, SM San Lazaro branch, along with a friend who also had her haircut. I tried semi-mohawk hair style and I love it. But, I can’t sport that kind of hair style everyday ‘cuz it’ll take me an hour to achieve it and I don’t have enough hair paraphernalia available at home. hahaha!

Does my hairstyle suits me or not??? 😀

Quadricentennial celebration!

From January 24-29, 2011, University of Santo Tomas celebrated its 400th year. The oldest among any other schools not only in the Philippines but also in Asia. Definitely, it was not just an ordinary celebration us, students, were expecting and UST dint disappoint us. Lots of activities happened and we really had a BLAST!!! 😀

January 27, 2011

The most awaited event of many Thomasians, including me, ‘cuz this marked the start of the grandest celebration of my beloved school. Actually, I dint plan to attend the said event ‘cuz we have a scheduled reporting the next day. My friends encourage me to stay but I was hesitant at first but in the end they successfully convinced me and it was worth it!!

Btw, I partied wearing my uniform ‘cuz I wasn’t able to bring extra clothes for the event. LOL! 😉

*Grabbed photos from a friend*

First and foremost, the unveiling of the Quattromondial statue. It was attended by well known Thomasian alumni celebrities, Piolo Pascual and Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach.

L-R: Me, Hazel, Pau, Riad, and Bruce. Taken by Shierald

After the unveiling, we immediately went to the UST field to watch the quadri concert attended by lots of celebrities and many many more. 🙂

The Thomasian crowd

The beautiful UST Main Building

UST Hot Air Balloon. Idk what is this for but we loved it!

While waiting for the fireworks that were said to be much better than the previous years “Paskuhan” celebration…

We got surprised ‘cuz the fireworks got a new venue, the Central Seminary!!

What a nice view!!!

Indeed, the fireworks display was much better to than that of the Paskuhan celebrations. Me and my friends got teary-eyed while watching it ‘cuz we really felt what is it to be a THOMASIAN and how lucky we are to be in this university!!

I love to be a Thomasian, I love UST and everything about it. I’M PROUD TO BE THOMASIAN FOREVER!! 😀

Tagaytay: 1st Family escapade for 2011!

Had our preliminary exams last week. As expected, all of my brain cells were drained. Fortunately, my parents planned a trip to Tagaytay, a day after our exams end. It was not actually a trip but rather a religious thingy ‘cuz we went on Pink Sister’s convent which is believed to grant your wishes (for a 1st timer and YES I am!) once you stepped in to that place and pray. 🙂

We leave the house as early as 6am ‘cuz we don’t wanna be stuck on a heavy traffic and I got so excited ‘cuz I can’t wait to experience the coldness of Tagaytay!! Weeeeeeeeeee!!!

On our way to Pink Sister’s Convent, we ran across the foggy road and I was amazed when I saw it!! LOL!

We arrived in the Pink Sister’s convent almost at the half of the mass already. We dint know that there’s only 1 mass every morning so we thought on making up for the next mass. But the next scheduled mass would be at 5pm so what we just did instead were to pray inside the chapel and WISH!

The Pink Sister’s Chapel

Spotted: Sister in PINK! 🙂

Picture taking! I LOVE MY FAMILY!!! 😉

Idk if Lola dint notice the camera or maybe she was just messing with us! LMAO!! 😀

Mom got crazy about the low-priced veggies outside the church so she did some “Panic buying”…. Not only veggies but also plants…

After the stressful panic-buying, FINALLY!!!! a peek of heaven!! What a nice view!! 😀

I love the climate and the breath-taking views on Tagaytay and it makes me wanna live there FOREVER!!

When we got home, I immediately washed the fresh from the soil lettuce that my mom bought and topped it with macaroni salad which made it “garden macaroni salad”!! The result was a SCRUMPTIOUS meal!!

Can’t wait to have more family bondings this year. No specific dates yet but for sure there will be more to come!!! 😀

I consider these as my achievements!!

I reviewed everything happened to me last year and thought of posting a blog about my little achievements I’ve got from the world of fashionistas. I considered the second-half of 2010 as my lucky months ‘cuz that’s when I got my so-called achievements. 🙂

So here they are:

1. After almost 5 months in Lookbook, see what I’ve achieved. (Click here to view my page)

3000+ people visited my page and it means an average of two people visit my page everyday! Not bad right?! 🙂

All of these were zeros when I started, but now they’ve really improved and it’s very flattering to know that. (Except for the forum topics which is still zero. LOL!) 😀

2. Met some of the famous people in Lookbook (not only in LB but also in the whole fashion industry) that I came across with.

A peek on their profiles: Chiara and Andre

Check their profiles here: Jordan, Barbara, and Luke.

My tweet got retweeted by an icon. Lovin’ it!! 😀 Check Filippo.

3. Established friendship all over the globe!

*Grabbed pic from LA’s blog*

Met this stylish girl from lookbook, named LA, and suddenly we became best of online buddies. 😀 Check her site here.

4. Last but not the least, FASHION OFFERS!!! 😀

Submitted a photo on Manila Streetstyle and luckily it got picked. They offered me to be featured on their site but unfortunately, I need to turned down their offer (it’s a long story :().

On the night before the New Year’s eve, I received this e-mail and I got shocked when I read it. Then I said to myself “THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!”. Click here to view their site which will be launch VERY SOON and I’m gonna be a part of it!!

Hayy, lots of thing happened and I can’t get over them!! 😀

P.S.
I don’t mean to brag or anything in this post. I just wanna show to everyone how blessed I am the past year and will hopefully continue this 2011!

Lookbook 2010

I had a blast last 2010. Lots of happening and of course the debut of my Lookbook account. Hurray!!

I started LB-ing August 27, 2010. But I knew the site early 2010 when it was still exclusive. Almost all users got surprised when Lookbook announced (around July 2010) that the site would not be exclusive anymore. Many were disappointed about what happened but the most important thing is that, Lookbook gave an opportunity to those people (like me) to flaunt their styles, to get known on the fashion community, to get more tips about fashion and most especially to build connection to other fashionistas all over the globe. 🙂

Here are some snap shots of my look from the day I started LB-ing till 2010 ends. Click here to visit my lookbook page and hype my looks. 😉

Part 1: Amateur-ish looks and lame photography

Since I was still a newbie at that time, I dint know much about photo editing and how to show off my swagger when it comes to clothes combination that I have in my closet. But I think as I get familiarize with the site and saw some people that I really look up to, my looks improved every now and then. 😀

Part 2: The “age of civilization”

Looks I produced by learning some photo editing skills, bought clothes that I think stand out and many more. LOL!!

I just wish this 2011 will be a great year for me (on my fashion career, LMAO). Expect more looks, more clothes, and hopefully to be FAMOUS!! 😀

Things to do this 2011!

While everyone’s doing their own new year’s resolution, I’d rather list down things to do this 2011 ‘cuz I know these sound doable than keeping a resolution/s that I may not fulfill. 😛

THINGS TO DO:
1. Save at least Php 150 per day
2. Have at least one new clothes/shoes every month
3. Shopping will take place only once a month or whenever there’s a big sale!
4. Try to limit the time allotted for surfing the net as much as possible and review some lessons instead
5. Make a little studio on the corner of my room
6. Work on my fitness (Jogging/Exercise) every morning
7. Write a blog at least once a week

to be continued………………………….

This list is not yet finish ‘cuz everytime something pops up in mind I’ll list it down here so I’ll be get reminded of the things I need to do, this year of the rabbit!!!! 😀

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011!

After my birthday celebration on the 30th of December, another event came up and that was the New year’s eve! My most favorite event of all. 😀

NEW YEAR’s PAMPASWERTE!!!!!

Afternoon on the 31st, me, my mom, and my uncle already started preparing food for the Media Noche. As usual each of us has its own specialty and no wonder I was tasked to make the dessert. 😉 My mom cooked first the main course which was Giniling na menudo and at the same time my uncle was grilling the fish on the open-space part of our house. They were busy on the kitchen and lot of utensils were in there so I let them finish before doing my turn. While waiting, I just watched the TV and did some cleaning stuffs. 🙂

Preppin’ up.

When they were done, I rushed immediately on the kitchen ‘cuz I can’t wait to taste the scrumptious Maja Blanca that I’ll cook. While cooking, I had lots of taste test and damn I was dying to put it already in the fridge ‘cuz it was so DELICIOUS!! LOL! 😀

We were getting close!!!

Mom getting some moments first!

Finally!! Our humble media noche! 😉

It was already past 6 in the evening when all the dishes were done so what we just did was to kill time and we decided to had videoke. 😉

Me with my not-so-drunk dad. LOL!

Mom and Dad ❤

30 minutes before the new year, had some family snap shots first. Here are some.

As always, lolo wants a candid shot. 😛

What’s up with my lolo and my dad?? LMAO!

Had a wonderful new year’s eve ever ‘cuz I’m with my grannies. Looking forward to more events with them! 🙂

Oh shawty it’s my birthday!!!

Damn, I feel so old ‘cuz I’m not a teen anymore!!!!

Last December 30, 2010, I celebrated my 20 years of existence on earth and I feel so blessed to be surrounded by a loving family. 🙂 The celebration was very simple ‘cuz my family we’re not used to having a large party or whatsoever and it was also my request to keep it very simple. I even asked my mom if she could just give me the money instead and I’ll just have a shopping spree on my own. A day of pampering for myself. hehe! But it rained that day so I got lazy to leave the house. 😉

December 30 is supposedly a non-working holiday but it was moved on Monday (December 27) so my parents needed to leave for work. I just texted my mom to buy Christmas bucket feast on KFC and pizza from Pizza Hut ‘cuz it would be less hassle on our part. No more cooking and no more washing tons of dishes!! My mom also bought pancit and damn that was good! Yummiest pancit ever!! 🙂

For vanity purposes and remembrance, picture taking first before indulging on the scrumptious foods and here are some of the pics! 😀

I really had fun ‘cuz I ate a lot. LMAO!

Thank you God for adding another 1 year in my life and for the blessings you have given to my family! 😀
